Stone Bowls

One place sea glass can still be collected is along the North East coast of England. Glass found on these beaches comes about as a result of  local glass factories dumping their used furnace pots at sea - which over several hundred years have broken down and washed ashore as small rounded glass pieces.
The ‘Stone Bowl’ series is Stewart's man made imitation…
The containing vessel is made from clear hand blown glass, while the ‘stones’ are either clear or coloured solid glass that has been textured in the cold workshop. The piece is assembled and sealed with a polished glass base.
